I am having this error 0x80070005 (Access is Denied) after applying fix for Default User profile corruption, at initial logon after resolving this problem, a pop-up suddenly started for activating Windows, although this server has been running for more than 6 months and was properly activated with the correct enterprise key.
Now, when attempting to re-activate or re-apply the correct key, activation throws an error of 'Access is denied' although all rights are correct and I am logging in with either Domain Admin or Enterprise Admin privileges.
The slmr as well as the slui options fail and also throw the same access denied error. This is an Exchange Server and has no other roles on it outside of Exchange, so reinstalling or repairing the OS is difficult due to down time with email.
